About the Author:
Bill Slavin has illustrated over sixty books for children, including Stanley's Party, Stanley's Wild Ride, Stanley at Sea, Transformed and The Farm Team. He lives in Millbrook, Ontario, with his wife, their cat, two rabbits, five squirrels and a family of cardinals.

Kindergarten-Grade 2-- Setting up a lemonade stand on a hot day seems like a good idea, but then Patty and her partners get discouraged by the lack of business. Her father then comes to the rescue, disguising himself in a series of outlandish costumes and buying drinks all afternoon. The three friends enthusiastically accept their customers without the slightest suspicion. While young children may be mildly amused by the rapid fire costume changes, there is little else to recommend this book. The situations are silly and improbable, the characterization is nil, and the cartoon illustrations are uninspired. Dr. Seuss's And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street (Random, 1989) and Donald Crews's Parade (Greenwillow, 1983) provide better summer reading .
