During her first visit to beautiful Puerto Rico in 2014, author Marla Stahlfell in love with its people, culture, scenery, music, and food. One thingwas disturbing, however--seeing so many stray animals on the island.When she returned home, she was determined to do something to help.She searched online and found Second Chance Animal Rescue of PuertoRico, which she immediately began to support. In 2017, she fulfilled apromise to Second Chance's founder and leader, Bonnie Lukas, to visitthe rescue and to write a book about one of its special dogs, Mason. About the Author:

Ms. Stahl believes that we humans need to care for and protect those who are most vulnerable. Therefore, she donates 10% of her book proceeds to animal rescue organizations, and occasionally to groups that help people, too. She reads her books to children at schools and special events, and has lively and fun conversations with them about the importance of being kind to animals.
