Those back home have no idea what these young soldiers, mostly teens, will have to endure in order to survive. None of the veterans receives a hero’s welcome. Some never make it home. Others come home physically and emotionally damaged, undoubtedly forever changed. Throughout their lives the veterans remain haunted by images never far from their minds. Writing their chronicles may heal their souls and enlighten their fellow classmates, families, and compatriots, who can finally embrace their untold bravery.
