About the Author:
As a multi-faceted creative, artist and business-minded individual, Jan believes in blending the left and right brain to achieve the most comprehensive result, and has coached and led many workshops, classes and events that pair art, business and pleasure together. Over the years, Jan McCarthy has established herself as a trusted advisor for entrepreneurs in all stages of development, an artist that inspires collectors to own a piece of her work, and new artists to explore their creative and artistic talent through her creative art sessions and retreats. These roles are only the tip of the iceberg for Jan, however, as her prowess in the business world extends to her work as a professor, television host, author, radio host, blogger, and featured speaker and her talent as an artist has led to creating workshops for corporations and individuals to explore their creative spirit. Jan draws upon a family heritage of entrepreneurs, inventors, and creatives including a great-great grandmother who held the distinction of being the first woman doctor in the state of Georgia and valedictorian of her medical graduating class. Inspired by the fearlessness of her genealogy, Jan set foot on an entrepreneurial path at an early age. While still in her teens, she began building a career in real estate. She earned a marketing degree from the University of Colorado, and added to her business acumen through management positions in the corporate world and by developing several start-ups of her own. She yearned to be an artist for most of her life, but finally found the courage to develop her talent a few years ago and has enjoyed much success as an artist ever since she took the leap and followed her dream. Jan is married to an entrepreneur, and mother to two grown entrepreneurial daughters. She enjoys travel, reading, painting, writing, developing new projects, dining out, planning social activities for her building, volunteering, and spending time with her family and friends. Jan embraces a dual lifestyle, splitting her time between her loft in downtown L.A. and her ranch in Boulder, Colorado.
