PLEASE BE AWARE: By purchasing this book you are helping! All the royalties from the sale of this ebook and paperback go directly to helping the animals at the Soi Dog Foundation. You ARE making a difference! The Soi Dog Foundation is the largest animal welfare charity in Asia dealing with stay dogs and cats, located in the north of the province of Phuket and in Bangkok. It was co-founded in 2003 by Margot Homburg, a Dutch retiree, and John and Gill Dalley, who retired from England. Soi Dog helps the homeless, neglected and abused dogs and cats of Thailand. They tirelessly work to end the dog meat trade throughout the region, and respond to animal welfare disasters and emergencies. Soi Dog runs a shelter and rehoming center for over four hundred dogs (that’s growing daily) that have been abandoned or abused and subjected to sometimes terrible cruelty. Thousands more are treated for injury and disease every year by providing emergency and ongoing veterinary treatment for abused and neglected street dogs and cats. They also feed hundreds of dogs and cats who live in temples and other locations around the province of Phuket. They have also built a shelter in northern Thailand that holds over one and a half thousand dogs that have been rescued from the illegal dog meat trade. They also have a permanent clinic in Bangkok. This book will give you an overview of the whole organization, and what they are striving to achieve and what they have achieved to date. You will learn everything there is to know about Soi Dog, and the people who spend their lives helping the neglected dogs and cats of Thailand. People who have suffered immense personal injury in the pursuit of protecting the animals that have no voice, and who need someone to stand up for them. You will meet the people who make Soi Dog possible, who volunteer their time and energy into the foundation. People who have drastically changed their lives in order to make a difference. You will read their stories and those of the animals that have been saved. You will get a personal tour of the Soi Dog Foundation, and the day-to-day running of the Phuket facility, by the author Glen Johnson, who also goes out with rescue officers and follows the procedure of catching the stray dogs and returning them to the Soi Dog clinic to be sterilized. Read the story of those who give their time and energy to save the animals of Thailand. TABLE OF CONTENTS 1. The Soi Dog Foundation 2. An Introduction to Soi Dog 3. John and Gill Dalley’s Story 4. About the Author:
Glen Johnson was born in England in 1973. He used to live in Devon, just a stones throw away from the English Riviera, but in August 2014, he gave away all his belongings, and bought a backpack, and he has been traveling Asia ever since. While he travels (with his older brother Gary), he will be helping charitable organizations, writing and releasing books about their foundations, leaving them with all the royalties (this book is the first of many). Glen is the author of forty-one fiction and non-fiction books, and is also on the development team for a new computer game called The Seed, from the creators of the award-winning S.T.A.L.K.E.R Misery mod. He has also started to release a collection of books about his travel adventures as they unfold, and Living the Dream: Part One – Khaosan Road, Thailand is available from all good ebook retailers. He loves to travel and has already visited thirty-five different countries, and lived in Mexico City, Mexico for far too long for a pale skinned European. He has also been married twice – and still refuses to say where he buried them. Why not add Glen Johnson as a friend on Facebook, he is always happy to chat to like-minded people? From his author’s page, you can keep up-to-date with all his new releases, and when his kindle books are free on Amazon. He checks it daily, so pop on and say hello! Don’t be shy he’s a friendly chap. www.facebook.com/GlenJohnsonAuthor Gary Johnson was born in England in 1972.
