About the Author:

James Tipton lives in the tropical mountains of central Mexico near the shores of Mexico’s largest lake, Lake Chapala. For more than forty years he has been publishing poems and short stories as well as articles and reviews. His popular column, “Hearts at Work,” has appeared in Mexico’s largest monthly magazine in English, El Ojo del Lago, for over ten years. Isabel Allende wrote the Foreword to one of his collections of poetry, Letters from a Stranger, which won the Colorado Book Award in 1999. Other collections include All the Horses of Heaven (2009) and To Love for a Thousand Years (2012); and these also are in both English and Spanish. His work, which appeals to a wide audience, has been translated into at least ten languages and is frequently anthologized.
