About the Author:

After raising her family of nine children, Alice Warkentin of Cartwright, Manitoba, Canada, started her career as an author by writing her mother's history in story form, in "Are We Home Now?", "Which House is Home?" and "A Home for the Heart" - Granny's Story. Composing life stories for others has been her favorite kind of writing so far, and this is her first fiction story. This book is written at children's level but is of interest to people who remember how we lived in post-war days.
