This book has been zinging around in my brain for years.  I've tried to write it several times, so no one is happier than I am that it is finally a reality.  Well, maybe my friends.  They were tired of hearing about it and just wanted to read it.  All of my YA books have had romance in them, but the romance here is more forbidden, I think.  I wanted a couple who couldn't stop their attraction to each other even if the fate of the world was hanging in the balance.  Bay-Lee and Nick fulfilled my every expectation.  This is a four book series.  Their love will continue on in future books even though huge obstacles will get in their way.  I'm a sucker for a good love story and hope you are too.But it isn't just about romance.  Because a Van Helsing is a character in this urban fantasy, people expect it to be about vampires.  Wrong.  Although there is a brief glimpse of a vampire in the story, other monsters take the lead such as werewolves, wraiths, and border monsters.  Did you know there are several different kinds of ghosts?  Stop by Maxx's class and get the information firsthand.  Do you want to know more about border monsters?  These huge and hairy things cannot see very well, but if they find you, they can crush you with ease.
