From the Author:

As a photographer, I love photographing two things: children and nature. It was only natural (no pun intended) that I would start to create works of art inspired by both. Each image is carefully created to give the viewer a glance at the mysteries of nature-those tiny, beautiful moments that are invisible to us because we are always in a hurry to go, go, go. I couple up-close photographs of flowers, insects, and animals with pictures of my children exploring their world around them-climbing, dancing, hopping, studying. None of the poses are planned. None of the final images are staged. Each photo is taken as we explore our world and discover its beauty-and as the plants, animals and insects allow.

I've decided to pair these works of art with classic poetry in an effort to inspire both young and old to enjoy the beauty that can be found all around us. These moments are everywhere. In our own backyards. I genuinely hope, as you look at each picture, and read each poem, you become inspired to slow down and discover some small worlds of your own.

Tamara Denby is a retired preschool teacher, author, and mom. She loves hiking and taking photographs of anything and anyone, including her kids and pets, of course. And she loves finding a new perspective on the ordinary-the beauty in things that are overlooked.
