Dr. Sterling Haynes' vivid stories read like the man himself: gritty, irreverent, and humane. There are few subjects he won't tackle and with nearly 50 years as a general practitioner...yes, a doctor who made house calls, horse calls and other such visits...Haynes shares with the reader his experiences of life as a pioneering doctor in Canada's western province of British Columbia and the Deep South's Alabama during the latter half of the 20th century. From giving life blood to his own mother during a serious cancer battle at the age of fourteen to caring for the mother and father of Coretta Scott King's parents...Haynes has lived the life of a doctor who served everyone that sincerely needed his expertise. You'll chortle, weep and gnash your teeth at this down-to-earth doctor's tales of reality in the real emergency rooms of our planet.
