About the Author:
Ann Jamieson expected to get a pony for Christmas every year from the time she was two. She never got it, but she did get lessons starting when she was five. She has been riding ever since and plans never to stop. Ann is a United States Equestrian Federation judge licensed in hunters, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation. As a kid Ann used to attend shows and pretend she was a judge, and then compare her results with the official ones. When she went to Madison Square Garden, and found she closely matched the official placings, she knew she had her future career! Ann has written numerous articles for magazines and newspapers including a column for the award winning regional paper The Litchfield County Times. She currently writes for Today’s Equestrian magazine, a regional publication. She loved the All Creatures Great and Small books, which proved to be the inspiration behind her popular series For the Love of the Horse. The books, all true collections of stories about horses, have received rave reviews from readers and reviewers. Not just for horse lovers, the books appeal to all animal lovers, as they explore the bonds that connect human and animal. One of Ann’s goals is to honor horses for all they do for humanity. She never ceases to be astonished by their generosity, their ability to learn a huge variety of skills, and their forgiving nature. Ann has had the privilege of doing book signings at Harrisburg, Washington, WEF, the Big E, Equine Affaire and Mohegan Sun as well as innumerable smaller locales. In 2013 she has been a guest on Glenn the Geek's The Horse Network radio show, was a presenter at Lendon Gray's “Weekend Education Program” and was featured on Tom Santos' cable TV show “Books and Things With Tom.” Ann has shown her own horse, Fred Astaire, in hunters and First Level dressage. They were third one year in Connecticut in the Adult Amateur Hunter standings, qualified for the Northeast Adult Amateur Dressage Championships, and with a professional rider Fred Astaire was reserve in the pre-greens at the June Fairfield “A” show.
