To understand God, one must seek him in the Spirit. In Understanding the Spirit of God, author Ken Hancherick presents the way to achieve a personal relationship with God. God is not flesh and blood; therefore, He must be separated from worldly things and must be comprehended in spirit and not in the flesh. When striving to understand God in the Spirit, the questions of Why, How, and When must be answered, for He tells us why we are here, how long it took for everything to be, and when the seven days of creating Heaven and Earth were established. Understanding the Spirit of God is not an interpretation of a Bible, the purpose is to acknowledge and understand the Spirit of God. References to what man has written in the past are used to reveal and acknowledge the Spirit of God throughout the book. While there will be some repetition as God's purpose is revealed, that repetition will help to establish a solid foundation for the Spirit of God. As God's Spirit is revealed through Understanding the Spirit of God, it becomes clear that man's understanding varies from one person to the next, so there will be differences of opinion and beliefs in each verbal account. It is for this reason that we must seek to fully understand God's Spirit because He will never change.
