About the Author:

Dr. La Vern AW. Murray is a native of Baltimore, MD and one of thirteen children of the late Joseph Anthony and Dolores P. Williams. She received her salvation and baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1990 and she faithfully serves with her husband, Dr. J. Anthony Murray (Senior Pastor), as the Associate Pastor of Doxa Ministries Church Without Walls in Owings Mills, MD. She is balanced with spiritual awareness and sensitivity and has a heart to see all those with whom she comes into contact grow in the knowledge of God. Dr. Murray holds an AA certificate in Theology from International Harvest Bible Training Center of Owings Mills MD, AA degrees in Business Administration and in Construction Management from the Community College of Baltimore. She continued her studies and earned her BA degree in Christian Education from the Family Bible Institute, College & Seminary, Catonsville, MD and received an honorary Doctorate in Christian Ed through Philadelphia Bible College & Seminary of Baltimore, MD. She is also a graduate of the United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corps, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Dr. Murray has worked in commercial/residential construction for over 26 yrs. She has worked as a Teacher Assistant at a level five middle/high school for children with emotional challenges, learning disabilities, an behavioral problems. She was last employed with Adams & Associates at a Job Corps Training Center the as the Associate Finance & Administration Director. Has actively served with God's Law Against Drunkenness & Drugs (GLADD) and countless soul winning outreaches for Doxa. In 1999 she was appointed to the faculty of Philadelphia Bible Institute. She is also the facilitator of the Doxa Women at the Well Mentoring Program and the Women at the Well Ministry. She has served on the board of directors for the Friends Research Institute, and is currently serving on the board of directors for Watchmen on the Wall Missionary to Guatemala and the Radical Sheep Ministries in Baltimore. She and her husband Pastor Tony have traveled abroad to Gaborone, Botswana and to Lagos, Ikorodu, Abuja and Wari Nigeria where they conducted extensive leadership training sessions and preached the Word at many local assemblies in those cities. The Murray’s are blessed with two sons, Joel, Jr. (married to Marsha) and Brennan, and three daughters, Nicolle (married to Frank Jackson, Jr.), Morgan and Michaela. She is also the proud grandparent of eight wonderful grandchildren.
