About the Author:

As a mother of a 13 year old and a 9 year old, I feel tremendous satisfaction in knowing that the postpartum care and love I received from my family has greatly contributed to my success as a mother. It is the greatest gift to a new mother. After the birth of my son, I became a postpartum doula myself and have served many mothers and babies. It pleases me to know that I have brought the ancient but universal traditions of India to the U.S. I am a teacher at heart. I have taught hundreds of cooking classes, workshops on Ayurveda, have led retreats and have authored three books. A former chef of the Chopra Center for Well-Being in San Diego, I currently work as private chef for two families. I was also the Culinary Consultant to resort chefs across the US and Europe for Chopra Center programs in 2008-2009. These days much of my time is dedicated to creating and facilitating workshops for “Grace Power and Beauty” with my business partner Lisa Beck.
