You Just Might be a Writer Here's what some people who have read this book have to say about it: “Anyone who has ever put pen to paper, other than to pay a bill or sign a report card, knows that writing isn't just a passion. It involves patience, skill, and an appreciation for words as the way we communicate with each other."You Just Might Be a Writer" is an attempt to give aspiring writers a "crash course" of sorts in the joys, and agonies, of writing. In a lively and entertaining manner, Willson eases the neophyte through the process and makes it all seem doable. There are eleven chapters; their titles give you a notion as to how the book flows: The Gift, Beginning, Time, How?, Place, ,Loneliness, Rejection, Rewriting, Ego, Darkness, [Fear. The Right to Write.]* and. You Know Who You Are. What? My masterpiece may be rejected? Yes. You mean others won't recognize the obvious genius of my creation? You bet. So how do you handle these bumps in the road? How does your bruised ego survive the many rejections that are certain in today's publishing market? What can I expect my life to be like once I begin writing in earnest? How much change will be required before a publisher will accept my book? All important questions, and Willson offers very brief, but informative and interesting, answers. Step by step, Willson guides the wannabe writer through the process. No one chapter overwhelms the reader. In fact, the prose style is smooth and respectful of the reader. His style is terse and to-the-point. Each chapter ends with a selection of quips that follow the theme of the book, "You Just Might Be a Writer" if... They are often amusing, generally wise, and, in my own experience, very true. Those who have already been published will likely already know much of what is here. But the target audience isn't, in my view, the experienced writer, but the one just setting out on the adventure of writing. Those considering putting pen to paper would do well to obtain this publication. While it is not an exhaustive treatment of the subject, it may be enough to get you started. It gives you a push, and then warns of the obstacles ahead.” (Jeffrey Needle, award winning book reviewer for the Association of Mormon Letters http://www.aml-online.org/) *chapters added to 2nd edition "Bill Willson's conversational, humorous style makes his book You Just Might be a Writer, a fast, easy read. Packed with insight into the mind of a writer, he provides excellent motivation for wanna be, 'closet' writers to push through denial, get out there and write! I laughed out loud when I recognized myself in some of the pages. "His direct message gives upbeat, positive encouragement to new writers, especially those who need to write, yet might not seek to publish. That's okay. Write on! He writes: `...If you have the gift, you have the obligation to use it...' This book speaks to anyone with that unborn writer within. You Just Might be a Writer validates would be writers everywhere." (Linda Paulson Adams, author of two popular novels, Prodigal Journey, and its sequel, Refining Fire,)
