I was brought up by my grandparents, who were old enough to be my great-grandparents, and my world is colored by their reminiscences.  Mysterious Places was conceived as a genealogically inspired travel journal of adventures in  Romania, where they came from, but evolved into more when I realized how rich was my family history, and I was the keeper of the stories.
