Sing along as readers learn about the holiday Cinco de Mayo to the tune of the "B-I-N-G-O" round song-ol! This fifth of May, celebrate Mexican culture and heritage with Pablo and his calf, Rodeo, in this Latino-flavored version of the classic tune.
When Pablo takes Rodeo to school for the Cinco de Mayo celebration, the calf wreaks havoc in the building, sending the students searching for the magic charm that will calm him down. The bandit tangles up the ropes and nets in Pablo's PE class. He even eats the art-room ribbons and flan from the school cafeteria. But when he makes a mess of the celebration stage, it's the final straw for the frustrated principal. Then-just in time-the students find a way to calm the little beast!
Young readers will learn Spanish vocabulary with the help of the supplementary glossary. Also included with this lively story is a brief history of the holiday that celebrates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over the French during the Franco-Mexican War, as well as a kid-friendly flan recipe for a taste of Mexican fare. Vibrant illustrations and musical narration will have you singing and clapping along to this charming holiday fiesta!
