About the Author:
H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) is generally acknowledged as the most important American writer of macabre fiction since Edgar Allan Poe and one of the most influential writers of horror tales in the 20th century. He is best known for stories featuring a mythology of otherworldly monsters that has become known as the Cthulhu Mythos. Over the past century, hundreds of writers of horror and fantasy, from Stephen King to Neil Gaiman, have contributed works to the Cthulhu Mythos.
