About the Author:
Jeff Brown Born in New York City, Jeff Brown was a story editor and assistant film producer in Hollywood. He worked on the editorial staffs of The New Yorker and the Saturday Evening Post, and his stories appeared in these magazines and many others. Jeff Brown died in Manhattan aged 77 but his world-famous Flat Stanley stories continue to delight children everywhere.

Grade 2-3-Stanley Lambchop continues his antics begun in Flat Stanley (1964) and Stanley and the Magic Lamp (1996, both HarperCollins). This time, he disappears during an electrical storm. He takes advantage of his invisibility, helping to steady a new bike rider and avoid the jeers of older children, and helping a shy man propose to his sweetheart by saying "marry me" for him. Stanley also gives his younger brother the spotlight by appearing (or rather not appearing) on a talk show to assist him with magic tricks. And finally, he helps foil a bank robbery attempt. Bjorkman's simple, cartoonlike sketches add to the humorous episodes that are sure to tickle the funny bones of early chapter-book readers.
