Alors il se décida à aller vivre avec sa famille à sa campagne; un ami lui prêta deux chambres, rue Sainte Anne butte Saint Boch, pour y placer tous les papiers qu'il ne pouvait pas emporter, et il partit, sans trop songer à ses affaires pécuniaires: Il oublia,' pendant quélque temps, toute affaire d'admi nistration publique, pour ne s'occuper que des movens d'améliorer son domaine.
