Alcuni credono derivare il suo nome da Caseia rap portata da Festo, ed altri da Casaurea come opina il Chicc carelli De Epi800p. Et Arc/ziep. Neap, pag. 264. E di fatti in un'antica Carta., che serhavasi nell' Archivio di S. Sebastiano di Napoli del di 1 1 Maggio della VI indizione dell' an no XVIII dell' Imperio di Basilio e del XV di Costan tino suo fratello si leggeva. Petrus et Stephanus ger mani filii Frasuri Rico, commorantes in loco qui vo catur Casaurea seniora promiserunt Domno Joanni Igumeno Monastérii ss. Sergii et Bachi Theodori et Sebastiani de Neapoli eo quod ipse Igumenus eis car tulam promissionis fecit liberationis et quod pos sint uxorari; ideo promiserunt eidem Igumeno habi b tare in dicto loco Casaurea et sibi et dicto Monuste rio et successoribus suis - in perpetuum servire et fa cere omnia serv...a s1cut fecerunt genitores eorum.
