Toutle mérite, bâtons - nous de le dire, comme toutes les longues et patientes recherches qu'il a dû nécessiter, doivent être attribuées à notre regretté maître et collègue Terver que la science pleure encore, et dont les naturalistes lyonnais et étrangers garde ront longtemps le souvenir. Qu'il nous soit donc permis, avant d'aborder cette étude, de rendre ici un juste et pieux hommage à cet homme de bien, à ce savant modeste trop peu connu de nos concitoyens, et de consacrer ces quelques pages à sa mémoire.
