Prefatory note. At the state teachers' examination in December, 1910, there were 456 applicants who wished to secure certificates on the examination alone. Of these, third grade certificates were issued to 165; second grade certificates to 131; and first grade certificates to 14; making a total of 310 who received certificates in this way, and leav ing 146, or who failed to secure certificates.
