Smith, a Washington, DC-based international lawyer, he has written extensively on public international law and international criminal justice, and has worked on human rights and post-atrocity justice in the Balkans and Asia. Educated at Harvard, Oxford and Brown, Smith has worked at the United Nations and the World Bank and is the author of a forthcoming work on the limits of international justice (Prometheus: 2008).
