From the Author:
Spearheading this book was a little like riding a roller coaster or maybe herding cats or both. There were so many distinct aspects to this book, some I knew and some I could never have anticipated. The technical expertise was a constant learning curve and I started with what I thought was a solid background and having spearheaded a book five years ago. If you don't edit and publish for a living, this process can be a nightmare. I'm still hoping it will be the best dream I've ever had. Time will tell.Debra
From the Inside Flap:
"B. Carter Pittman's stories are full of heart and hope. His tale entitled "Willie and the Twister" was particularly thrilling, utilizing intense realism coupled with tension that keeps the reader eagerly devouring every line. Another of his short pieces, "Ted," has a particularly dark note running through it that will be of interest to the historically minded. A+ for these fantastically written short-stories!""Debra Davis Hinkle offers a mix of both short-stories and poetry. ...I could see people identifying with some of the more painful and cathartic portions of the text. The writing had a very therapeutic quality that one might find in a personal diary or journal. The poem "Nemo" was probably my favorite.""Shirley Radcliff Bruton's wonderful poetry has a mix of the personal and the Imagist movement within its lines. Some of my favorites include "The Blossoms and the Fence," "Impetuous Storm," and "The Old Oak Tree." Her thoughtful poems speak on themes as wide ranging as life, death, and love, but also focus on the delightfully commonplace things of everyday life, from flowers to fence rails... "Susan Tuttle writes a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, somewhat reminiscent of 1950s writers, such as Vogt and Bradbury. ...Some stories were somewhat more contemporary in nature with differing content, particularly the samples from the Skylark series which have a more intriguing noir aspect to them."
