About the Author:

The Chief Joke Picker for the HaHa Color-Me! Joke book is Neesha Mirchandani.

She was inspired to create this book when her son visited a six-year old boy in the hospital waiting for surgery, and made the kiddo laugh with corny jokes.

She thought, "Wow, these jokes are so silly, and yet, at a stressful time, they are exactly what's needed to relieve the anxiety this little kid has as he waits for open heart surgery!"

Neesha works with kids in foster care through her social enterprise, Impact Stars, so she could see how such a book may also be helpful to children who are non-verbal after a traumatic domestic abuse incident, or have been taken away from their parents in the middle of the night, or are simply waiting outside the courtroom as their custody cases are heard in Family Court.
