About the Author:

David S. Bennahum cofounded and is the CEO of Ready, a coding app designed for kids. Bennahum remembers his first computer, an Atari 800. He learned BASIC and was part of the first class of kids to take the AP computer science exam in 1984. He understands what it is like to be a kid entranced by the opportunities new technology offers. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard with a major in history and literature, Bennahum held several technology-related jobs. He was a founding writer for Wired magazine, and his writing has appeared in a variety of publications, from the New York Times to Spin. Bennahum created the American Independent News Network, which takes advantage of new technologies and social media platforms to produce cutting-edge journalism. He is the creator of Punch, a satirical magazine and publishing platform. Bennahum also wrote Extra Life: Coming of Age in Cyberspace.
