About the Author:

Meina Dubetz was born in the Netherlands and immigrated with her parent to Calgary, Alberta Canada at age three. When she was seventeen, Meina began working in a nursing home in the summer where she discovered her passion for caring for patients facing the end of their lives. This experience paved the way for her to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, and then later become a Registered Nurse. With over thirty years of Oncology Nursing experience in both in-patient and out-patient settings, Meina’s connection with her patients, their families, and her peers continue to move and inspire her. Meina describes her life being balanced by working casual nursing shifts in the summer while spending as much quality time with her three children and four grandchildren as possible. In the winter, Meina and her husband, Art, live in the warmth of the Phoenix area, Arizona where she writes, entertains guests, and makes time for personal growth and professional development opportunities. Meina earned her Certification in Oncology Nursing in 1996 and her Certification in Gerontology in 2000.
