The Cloak is a medieval tale written in rhyme to be read to young children as a nice bed-time story. For young adults it is a tale about Justice and how it was meted out by Kings to his subjects of Lords, Ladies and Peasants. It has a villain, a hero, and a kindly King who resolves the dispute. It raises many questions of judicial advocacy which teachers and young adults could explore with the glossary and discussion topics included.

About the Author:
Dorothy Carbo (nee Zullo) is now an octogenarian. She was born in Brooklyn, moved up the Hudson River to Kingston, spent many years in Schenectady with relatives, and now resides in Dutchess County, New York, all in all, a true New Yorker. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Hunter and Brooklyn Colleges, and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Long Island University. She has previously published A Fix-it Guide For Women as a home repair specialist and advocate for women’s capabilities. She has recently published Goats For Sale, a rhyming children’s story. She has a penchant for rhyme and fun. “These stories were written many years ago for my children Linda, Patricia, and Joseph, my niece and nephew Patty and Michael, and my grandchildren Noah and Zachary, and whenever my muse Erato would deign to visit,” she says. She hopes you enjoy her stories as much as she enjoys writing them for you. She continues to write as a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.
