I always wondered why I was so obsessed with cats.  When I was growing up, cats were where the love hid in mydysfunctional family.  Somehow, weweren't able to express love to each other, but cats were enjoyed and adored,petted and fussed over.  And they gaveunconditional love back.  So, like babymonkeys who bond with fur-covered wire monkeys when real mothers aren't available,I bonded with cats more than people.Cats were cool.  Theycould do whatever they wanted most of the time.They were confident, self-possessed.I wanted to be one.  I felt wrongto have been born a human.I believe in Providence.  Emma and I were brought together in the strangest way I've ever heard of, and became "sisters under the skin."  She taught me how to love myself, and confirmed my belief in reincarnation.  I'll always be grateful to her for starting me on an amazing journey of discovery.
