A River Too Deep is the first of three chronologically ordered stand-alone novels in my People of the Book series. Parts of this story had been rolling around in my head for years, so the bulk of its first draft took only three intensive weeks to write. One small decision made by this first book's protagonist starts a ball rolling that changes many lives--including her own--throughout the next three decades. I hope it will inspire readers to see their own lives--and the sovereignty of God--a little differently.

I was swept away into a wonderful story, pleasantly transported into a story old in time, but so fresh and new. Alcy Callen has no idea that her life will not turn out like she planned.
