About the Author:
Debbie Lantz, founder and managing partner of Higher Road Leaders, has been actively involved in athletics her entire life. Sports played a significant role in Debbie's development as a child, leading her to pursue a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in exercise physiology. After several years of observing coaches and parents and far too many examples of the win at all costs attitude, she was inspired to write I Just Want to Play.
Review:
I was very impressed with the wealth of information in 'I Just Want to Play'. It is exactly what I would recommend to parents and how I would coach youngsters. The most important thing is for children to have fun and grow a love for the sport they choose to play. --Ron Washington, Manager Texas Rangers
Impressive approach...Debbie Lantz advises playing for the love of the game and the enrichment of character and confidence for a successful youth sports experience. --Ron Baron, President and CEO, Continental Baseball League, Inc.
Being in the professional sports industry for 19 years, I can attest to the pressure that athletes face on a daily basis. 'I Just Want to Play' is a great reminder for parents and coaches to allow children to enjoy sports without experiences the 'real world' pressures. Kids should be free to be kids. No Pressure. Just Play. --Avery Johnson, NBA Coach of the Year, '05-06' Season
