Especially, what is laid bare here is that this special form of architecture has given birth to a "motel man" whose behavior prefigures new modes of life.

About the Author:

Bruce B�gout, born May 21, 1967, is a French philosopher and writer. He holds the title ma�tre de conf�rences at the University of Bordeaux. B�gout has published several philosophical works, four essays (Z�ropolis: L'exp�rience de Las Vegas, 2002; Lieu commun: Le motel am�ricain, 2003; La D�couverte du quotidien: �l�ments pour une ph�nom�nologie du monde de la vie, 2005; De la d�cence ordinaire, 2008), but also a "documentary fiction" drawn from his novel L'�blouissement des bords de route (�ditions Verticales, 2004). He is currently the series editor of "Mati�re �trangere" for �ditions Vrin.
