This book is a by-product, gift might be a better word, from the childhood stutter that nearly killed me. That affliction finally drove me to take up public speaking. Eighteen months later I became a national oratory and debating champion.Years later, when I stumbled into teaching public speaking to inmates at Rikers Island prison I penned what I had learned from taking my shaky self to the platform, and passed that advice out as a handout to my class. That all worked so well, that I added material and compiled a book for my in-house corporate communications workshops. Then my great friend Tony Viola generously offered to knock out the superb illustrations. The result is a pithy and perfect little book that I'm immensely proud to share.
