Dr. Lukas Damian is worried about his nephew, Dr. Hugh Briss. Hugh seems to be falling into a destructive pattern of behavior that his uncle is all too familiar with: one that could potentially lead to dire consequences for Hugh and Hugh's patients. Lukas confronts his nephew and shares his story of how he became a brilliant, notably infamous physician and the tragic incident that made him realize that being a world-class clinician did not necessarily equate to be a great physician. Through his own example, Lukas explains to his nephew how learning to become a physician coach and working with an executive coach enabled him to make a dramatic shift in his approach much to the benefit of his patients, his support team and himself.

Review:
I believe in coaching. I use an executive coach. As a physician, former Chief Medical Officer and current hospital administrator, I have found a coaching approach invaluable when working with my team. The Physician As Coach does an excellent job of sharing the benefits of a coaching approach in an interesting story-telling format. I would recommend it to physicians and physician leaders everywhere. --Monica Reed, MD Administrator, Florida Hospital Celebration Health
