About the Author:
As the planet Krypton exploded in a fiery holocaust Duncan Rouleau was shot off into space! Which was odd, for Duncan was not from Krypton. It was a "prank" perpetrated upon him by his older brothers... and so began his early childhood spent running with the prey. In college, at the University of Illinois, he dined like an idiot emperor upon sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, kung fu and poetry like he was at a salad bar. There he also made the first of many brilliant career moves, and got a degree in acting! The second of his many brilliant career moves involved Duncan running to Hollywood where he quickly sprung into action... getting coffee, cleaning urinals and copying scripts for some the biggest talents in the town! But Duncan never lost sight of his true calling... ART. Slowly Duncan forged friendships and made contacts working in every aspect of film production behind and in front of the camera as a grip, in the art department, as an electrician, a storyboard artist, an animator, a writer and as an actor. While working on creature design for a small independent company he stumbled into the comic book world as an artist, drawing the likes of Wolverine and Superman. Overnight, Duncan became the toast of the tinsel town, Prince Hal now a King Henry! Not bad for a boy with such an unpronounceable name.
Review:
Rouleau's art is especially delicious, with a detail and control that gives shape to the inky terrors lurking in the story. (Grade: A-) --Tom McLean, Variety
The Nightmarist is the best original graphic novel released in years, and I claim this during a time when OGNs are popping out of the woodwork each and every month. --Dave Petkash, Broken Frontier
Rouleau is a versatile and capable talent, and NIGHTMARIST is a thing of beauty to behold. --Marc Mason, Comics Waiting Room
