A Supernatural Thriller set in the Middle East
Dreams of the Desert Wind is a modern fantasy filled with ancient secrets and hidden power.

In Jerusalem, city of peace and strife, three people struggle to protect their lives, their loves, and their future.

David Fineblum, son of an American senator and student of ancient languages, hears a young woman speak a language scholars thought dead for a thousand years. Following her--and her secret--he plunges deep into a world of danger that brings him face to face with the politics of the Judean Desert.

Rivka Danilovitch, a lieutenant in the Israeli military, is caught between her love for David and her duty to her country. Her superiors are not concerned for David's safety, but she is.

Ghazayil, a woman of the Sulubba Bedouin, holds the secret that draws David into the wilds of Judea, but it is not the secret he thinks it is. What she finally reveals threatens to shake not only his world, but the world at large.

Kurt Giambastiani, author of the acclaimed Fallen Cloud Saga, has now turned his talents to the secretive and volatile Middle East, creating a tale of love, intrigue, and possibility.

About the Author:
Kurt R.A. Giambastiani is the author of nine novels, including Unraveling Time and the acclaimed alternate history series, The Fallen Cloud Saga. He is known for blending genres, and for strong historical and cultural detail.

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, he studied music at SFSU and at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem, Israel. He played viola for many years in orchestras and chamber groups, until he took up writing in the early '90s. Kurt now lives in Seattle, where he works as a software developer and blogs about writing and living in the Pacific Northwest.
From Booklist:
The author of the Fallen Cloud saga has done his homework on the Middle East as well as he did on the Cheyenne, the saga's people, and has created a compact, lyrical fantasy. David Finebaum is an archeolinguist, or student of dead languages, in Jerusalem when he starts hearing one of those languages in his dreams, and then on the street. His desperate curiosity impels him on a perilous pilgrimage through Jerusalem into the Arab Quarters, where he survives a mixed reception. But the secret he pursues lies in the hands of a Bedouin tribe, and even if it means abandoning his lover, Israeli intelligence lieutenant Rivka Danilovitch, David must go. Reaching the tribe, he encounters Ghazayil, a girl he previously encountered in his dreams, and discovers that it is his destiny to marry her and preserve the secret of the tribe. The characterization, lyrical prose, and pacing are nearly flawless, and readers close the book hoping that it is only the first in a new series. Roland Green
