Mike Brown was working for Cirque Du Soleil as a fire performer when he first wrote Ted's Simple Truth for his niece Katya who lives in England.
Being a Distant Uncle in a far away land he wanted to share some of the things he had discovered on his travels but the story soon took on a life of its own and evolved into a book.
Written in language simple enough for a young child the story holds a much deeper message suitable for all ages.
The story concerns Ted, an ordinary boy, who is dissatisfied with life but doesn't know why. An important question sends Ted off on an amazing adventure that reconnects him with nature and helps him rediscover the simple joy of living.
A little book with a big heart, Ted's Simple Truth seems to strike a note with people of all backgrounds and walks of life.
Intuitively written, it's power is in the way it simply reminds us of what is most important in life through the unique aspects of nature's elements. Elements that were beautifully captured by the vibrant artwork of Beti Kristof.
WRITERS DIGEST REVIEW
"I thought and thought and thought, and there's absolutely nothing I disliked about this book. I think it's brilliant, from the illustrations to the beautiful rhyme scheme to the way a complex belief structure is subtly but indelibly woven through a deceptively simple story. Any child with a bent towards poetry or fantasy would love to get their hands on this book. Wonderful.""synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
