Synopsis

Loni R. burchett was born in Ashland, Kentucky and has lived in New Hampshire for seventeen years. Her love for New England inspired her to write the Bear and Katie series. Everywhere she goes she finds something to write about. She is a wife and mother of five and a devoted animal lover. She makes her home in both Kentucky and New Hampshire.

Loni visited our school several times in Manchester, Ohio. The students love the Bear and Katie books. When Loni arrived, the children were fulll of questions and ready to give new titles for more adventures with Bear and Katie. "The Riverboat Ride," was their favorite because it has their hometown in it. It made the book seem more real and personal to them. The Bear and Katie books are very educational. Taking the children to real places and puts a realistic fiction story with it to bring it to life. The illustrations are adorable. Students love them. I would highly recommend any of the Bear and Katie books for any school library. They are excellent books for any school to have on their shelves.
