Keiki, a character-driven novel, is the story of Milissa Dogherty, a Seattle University law student who goes to Molokai, Hawaii to intern for an island attorney and gets involved in a struggle to save a plantation town. The struggle, which evolves into a mystery, pits a giant corporation against Hawaiian sovereignty activists and plantation workers bent on preserving their homes and traditions.

About the Author:

Jan Tissot, J.D. is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law, with thirty years experience as a criminal defense investigator and west coast political activist. He has published four books of poetry. His political activities have been covered by Pacific Northwest media since the early 1960's, and episodes from his life have been included in the published memoirs of well-known Northwest figures.
