Synopsis

A sequel to Monte. Story of the old cowboys life after he married the young widow with two children. He has escapades with horses, cows, loose saddles, bathing women, vigilante posses, escaped killers and other assorted characters. A very pushy wealthy Texas oilman finds a Colorado cowboy can be hard to intimidate. Monte referes to the oilman as one of the "big apes". When Monte gets thru with him the oilman wonders how in the world the little guy got the best of him. Monte has very firm beliefs in family values, their lifestyle, Christianity, honesty, fairness and in getting the best of pompous blowhards.

About the Author:

Eugene C. Vories was born in Walsenburg, Colorado. He spent his growing up summers riding on the family ranch established by his ancestors before Colorado became a state. He grew up to become a successful cattle rancher and businessman. He knows how Colorado pioneer cattle ranching families lived, thought and acted. He writes from this background as well as his own experiences, his love of the West and its people. Now, in retirement, he has time to write about the land and people he loves. He relates well to the feelings, needs and emotions of people like Monte. He knows how to tell storieThs of how people are, were, or might have been.
