"The Reckoning is just the first in the series of Jess Williams western novels. Book two, 'Brother's Keeper,' will be out in 2004 and book three, 'Sins of The Father,' should be available in late 2004 or early 2005. The Author plans on at least ten novels based on the exciting new character, Jess Williams.

"When I first began formulating my storyline for 'The Reckoning' I wanted an extra element to the story that would be a little different from the ordinary western novel. I have read a hundred western novels and in many of them you would have a character that was the fastest man with a pistol. Well, I could have simply said that my character, Jess Williams, was the fastest man with a pistol, but I wanted something more. I wanted something that would make the reader believe that Jess Williams really was the fastest man with a pistol in the old west. I believe that I solved it with the idea of a modern day fast draw pistol and holster that somehow mysteriously appears in 1876 with no logical explanation. It's a good hook for the story and something different for the reader.

I tried to build the character for the reader so that the reader could feel and understand why, at so young an age, that he could be filled with so much rage and hatred for the men who murdered his family and any other men like them.

I hope I suceeded and hope that the reader will love the story. I am currently writing book two for the series and if the reader likes book one, they will love book two."
