Dennis Boyer is the author of Giants in the Land: Folk Tales and Legends of Wisconsin. He lives on a farm near Dodgeville and is a  lawyer active in conservation groups. Justin Isherwood farms near Plover and is the author of The Farm West of Mars and The Book of Plough. He has written for Audubon, Country Life, The Wall Street Journal, and Harrowsmith.
