After obtaining her Master's degree in English from Nankai University in Tianjin, China, Jeannie Jinsheng Yi taught at the English Department at Beijing University. She earned her Ph.D. in Asian Studies from Washington University in 1992. An author of several books in both English and Chinese, she has been writing extensively on literature, culture and business.
