From the Publisher:
Little Known Tales in California History demonstrates that history is not boring. The 41 chapters in the book are essentially five and ten minute history lessons that appeal to a wide range of readers from fourth grade through adulthood.

Contents include stories on Lucky Baldwin, who could make Santa Fe Railroad stop their trains at his whim, about the Lost Spanish Galleon still lying on the bottom of the Salton Sea, about the U.S. Army's failed camel experiment, and about Peg Leg Smith's lost goldmine.

About the Author:
Alton Pryor has been a writer for magazines, newspapers, and a wire service in his more than 35-year journalism career. He worked for United Press International, the daily Salinas Californian newspaper, and held the post of field editor for California Farmer magazine for 27 years.

Following retirement, his freelance articles were published in Western Horseman magazine, in Ag Alert, the Farm Bureau publication for California, in Golf Course Management magazine, the official journal of the Greenskeepeers of America.
