About the Author:
One hundred years after John Muir trekked west, Gary Thompson made a similar, though less arduous, journey and he has lived there ever since. His poems are widely published in journals, anthologies, and two previous collections, Hold Fast and As for Living; they have also won several awards, including an NEA writing grant. He makes his home in Port Orchard, Washington.
