About the Author:

Louis N Jones is the Executive Director of Conquest Reintegration Ministries, a non-profit Washington, DC organization working with inmates and ex-prisoners at the point of release. He has over 15 years of experience in working with prisoners and their families. He is the author of "I Need A J-O-B! The Ex-Offender's Job Search Manual" and "Equipping Your Church to Minister to Ex-Offenders." He is the assistant pastor of Christian Conquest Fellowship Church in Washington, DC. LaVerne Brewster has over 15 years experience in the field of Social Services. She provided case management services, counseling, housing assistance, referrals of other needed services for homeless families, and was an active spokesperson regarding homelessness, and the impact incarceration has on the entire family. In addition to employment in the District of Columbia shelter system, she also worked with an agency under the HIV and AIDS Administration which targeted women impacted by HIV and AIDS. Ms. Brewster graduated in 1998 from the University of the District of Columbia with a BS degree in Social Work.
