With her hand-dyed fabrics, layering techniques, and free-form outlines, Lintault pushes the envelope of quilt-making. This lavishly illustrated celebration of her art gives form to the deeply personal and elusive inner workings of the artist’s mind. Drawing inspiration from nature, painters, philosophers, and travels throughout the world, her quilts tell timeless tales that are a culmination of these vast experiences and influences. In addition to experiencing the amazing scope of her work, readers will gain insight into her creative process which blends formal artistic principles along with inspiration and intuition. A brief review of an array of technical processes sketching, fabric dyeing, layering, sewing, and appliqué techniques is also included to further illuminate the design process.
