Nut Salad is a collection of humorous fiction and non-fiction of the author and her grandfather, C.B. Crampton. The two combine their short stories, humor, nostalgia and homespun wisdom to give a chuckle or a tear to the modern world. The author, Gayle Moxley Pyle, pays homage to her curmudgeon grandfather who was published in all the major newspapers and a few national magazines while in his 80s and 90s. He published his first book at age 95 and died at age 98. It is a delightful book of "stuff and things". One has to have a good sense of humor to undertake the reading of this book. Ms. Pyle refers to the book as a "...great bathroom read!"

About the Author:

Author Gayle Moxley Pyle was born in Grassvalley, California and was raised on Donner Summit until she was school age. Her parents moved to Sacramento, California where she attended grade school and graduated high school. She is college educated, attending Chico State University and the University of Nevada Reno. Her major was education and later changed to Literature. She says of herself, "I was told, by one of my professor's early on that I had both feet firmly planted in mid-air." Ms. Pyle has been published locally, regionally and nationally. She has authored two books and is writing a third at this time. She has been referred to by writer, screenwriter, and educator, Gil Ralston as, "The Erma Bombeck of the sagebrush."
