About the Author:

Joćo Camilo dos Santos is a full professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, renowned critic, writer and poet, and the Director of the Center for Portuguese Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His extensive work includes studies on Portuguese neo-realism, Portuguese and Brazilian 19th Century and contemporary authors, as well as Western civilization literary criticism. He is also the editor of the "Santa Barbara Portuguese Studies" journal, created in 1994.
